Whitney L. Casement
Whitney Casement’s practice focuses on civil litigation, including employment, civil rights, commercial, banking, and estate litigation. Graduating from Washburn Law School in 2012, Whitney started her legal career as an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Kansas Attorney General, serving in that position for five years. She has been in private practice since 2017.
Whitney has represented businesses, individuals, and government agencies and officials in state and federal court and before administrative boards and tribunals. She has significant experience with complex motions practice, discovery, depositions, administrative hearings, mediation, settlement negotiations, oral arguments, and trials, among other areas. She enjoys advising clients on best practices to avoid litigation. When matters proceed to litigation, Whitney uses her varied experience to help her clients find efficient and effective negotiation and litigation strategies.
Whitney is active with the bar and Topeka community. She has served as President of the Kansas Women Attorneys Association and the Women Attorneys Association of Topeka, as Treasurer for the Topeka Bar Association, as Secretary of the Board for Communities in Schools of Mid-America, and as a member of the Board of Directors for TARC. She spent many years volunteering at the Topeka Correctional Facility, mentoring and playing basketball with the young women at the prison. Her interests include hiking, kayaking, playing volleyball, and watching college sports. She lives in Topeka with her husband, Daniel, their daughter, and their giant dog and two cats.
